This Full Moon is like a camera flash: objective truth is revealed
In this article, we will explore the meaning of the Full Moon in Aquarius 2025, and the rest of Leo season's energies. Feel free to skip ahead to each section:

What is Aquarius?
Aquarius is the 11th sign of the Zodiac. It comes when the winter is wintering the hardest. The time of year that spans between January and February feels distant, isolated, separated from the liveliness that is still waiting to awaken.
Aquarius is not a water sign, as one would guess by the name. The symbol of the "water bearer" is about being the bearer of knowledge, meaning: the latest and smartest ways of doing things, and of sharing that knowledge with the collective, so that all of humanity is better.
As the third air sign of the Zodiac, Aquarius represents the epitome of our mental capabilities: Gemini represents the first phase of data collection and use of language, Libra represents the building of alliances and search for middle ground, and Aquarius is the accumulation of both data and people's brains and networks, interconnected into a knowledge base that allows for further reflection and consideration of future possibilities.
The Aquarian motivation is to find new ways that provide greater ease and freedom. It's energy is objective and detached, allowing space for communal agreeance in what are the best ways for our collective interests, from a logical and objective perspective.
As the sign that follows after Capricorn (the sign of the elder: tradition, authority and structure), Aquarius brings an attitude and disposition that creates sufficient distance from ego to criticize the current ways and traditions.
Capricorn is the winter solstice sign (Dec-Jan), it is the symbol of resilience. Whatever Capricorn had to do in order to survive the winter, Aquarius will look at with critical eyes and call out what did not feel like the most fair, authentic, ethical, or smart way to do things.
As the opposite sign of Leo, Aquarius represents the refreshing dispassionate-ness that allows the ego to be genuine and carefree. Leo's passion and creative expressiveness can become a trap when we believe that is all we are. When our ego is too attached to a specific identity, we may begin to betray the true joy and passion that moved us in the first place.
Aquarius reminds Leo that it's fine to be different, it's ok to set oneself free from previous identities, and that it is actually a necessity in this world to express one's truth no matter how disruptive it may be.
Aquarius is the archetype of the rebel, the truth sayer, and the exile. There is a great desire to be different, and not be mixed in or labelled in any way that is pre established as a construct. At the same time, for Aquarius the community is highly valuable. Aquarius represents living at the edge of that community: pushing the boundaries of what is known, while longing to have a place in the tribe and not be completely cast out.
When Aquarius energy is activated, whether you are an Aquarius or not, we are invited to practice watching life from a detached perspective: to look at the facts and place the search for truth as a priority.

Full Moon in Aquarius 2025: Flash Camera On
Full Moons are moments of recognition: we see how far things have grown in this area of our life, especially in the past 6 months.
While the Sun goes through each area/house in a year, illuminating it with focus and awareness, the Moon will be full in each of the 12 houses within a year. Right now, the Sun is in Leo, and the Moon is in Aquarius, highlighting both sides and inviting balance between the two. Find more info about Leo in my previous blog post here.
Retrogrades during this Full Moon in Aquarius
This Full Moon in Aquarius happens while we have Mercury, Saturn, Chiron, Neptune and Pluto retrograde, which is a considerable amount of retrograde energy. What does this mean?
While the next phase of our life is still in its initial stages, and the retrogrades move us to understand deeper how our reality reflects externally what is inside (beliefs, paradigms, stories), this Full Moon in Aquarius illuminates the sky with objective, factual and at times cold clarity.
Life’s always advancing forward. The retrograde energy doesn’t pause life, it makes it more internally reflective. A momentum has been reached in terms of what has been developing this year as we experience the peak of summertime.
Air and Fire energies in the Full Moon in Aquarius
During this Full Moon there are a lot of air and fire energies that can feel like a cold or rough environment for our feelings. The Moon is our emotions, and in Aquarius the vibe is a lot more about the facts and not so much about sensitivity.
The Full Moon in Aquarius feels like a flash that reveals an objective truth, like taking a snapshot of our feelings in the night, with a bright sudden light. The truth can be liberating, and allow for greater authenticity, but it can also be tough to see.
What is being shown to you right now?
Let's get into more details about the rest of Leo season 2025...
Mars in Libra: Tough Calls
Mars is quite challenged right now: our decision maker is now in Libra, a sign that struggles with choices.
Although Mars is uncomfortable in Libra, there seems to be a need to take into account all the insights we have experienced in the past few months when deciding the actions to take, making the process feel like a lot of work.
Mars in Libra is challenging us to discern and have the courage to sit with our differences. We can agree to disagree, and sometimes that is the healthiest stance to take.
Mars is one of the planets that isn’t retrograde: some kind of action that is right in the middle of the conflicts needs to be taken. This can look like having a tough conversation, delineating a boundary, addressing an agreement or relationship issue, or just making a decision.
Mercury Retrograde Comes To An End...
Mercury has been retrograding in Leo since mid July. Whatever started to pop up for you around that time can be coming to a final round of questions. Since the Mercury retrograde started, we had:
the Sun go into Leo,
a New Moon in Leo,
Venus going into Cancer,
Chiron gone retrograde,
Mars into Libra
and of course, the Mercury cazimi in the middle of all this at the end of July (reset button for Mercury)
Having Venus and Mars in new signs (Cancer and Libra) at the end of the MR versus at the beginning of it, we may notice that the "last round of questions" comes from a slightly new scenario. And perhaps this Full Moon is shining a light on it.
Since Mercury is the planet that rules Virgo - which is where the South Node is (eclipse point) and Virgo is also the next season after Leo - what we are being asked to review, discern and analyze right now is very important to do. Because Mercury is retrograding in Leo, it feels like a polishing to further and deepen our alignment with our heart calling.
Mercury will go direct on August 11th, and it will be in opposition to Pluto in Aquarius, sextile Mars and Uranus (in Libra and Gemini respectively), and trine Saturn and Neptune in Aries.
This moment feels somehow energetic, while profoundly insightful and/or revealing. The Pluto effect turns up the volume on shadow being brought out to light, which can be new information being brought up, which was previously hidden, consciously or unconsciously.
Mars and Uranus add a lot of energy to this Mercury going direct - like waking up being shaken by a couple of friends that just have a lot to say, each. Mars might be asking Mercury a lot of questions about what we really want from a situation. Uranus can feel electrifying and rebellious.
Venus and Jupiter in Cancer: Bliss, Pleasure, Connection
While the challenges of the Full Moon, and Mercury retrograde, and the Mars in Libra are all real and happening... simultaneously we are also experiencing one of the most beautiful and pleasant planetary transits there are.
You can witness it in the early morning before sunrise, look to the east!
Venus is the planet of love, and Jupiter is the planet of abundance. Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, and Venus enjoys the water sign as well. Together, they are expanding the possibilities of feeling really good, so good that it may be too much and end up in some excess of either food, suntan, drugs, etc.
Final Thoughts
The co-presence of both this incredible benefic alliance of Venus and Jupiter, and at the same time everything about Mars, makes me feel that the way to go about the challenges that arise is through gentleness, kindness and also charisma. It makes me think of Mars trying to use force but not really being able to.
The Full Moon is also in an objective air sign. All of this makes me think of a calming down of the energy around conflicts, a slow down, maybe even a forced stop (Saturn/Neptune opposed Mars).
Overall the connection between Mars (Libra), Mercury (Leo), Uranus (Gemini), Saturn/Neptune (Aries), and Pluto (Aquarius) is something really special. These planets are all sextile or trine each other. They are connecting all air and fire signs, except Sagittarius. Its like a symbiotic momentum that is connecting all these different pieces.
