What is Virgo?

Virgo is the sign that completes the first half of the zodiac cycle, bringing the fruits to be harvested during the last month of summer. With it comes responsibility: how do we make the most out of our harvest?

The problems that arise with the processes and details needed to preserve food through the winter are multiple and varied.

Virgo is a problem-solving sign that will continuously improve its methods in order to find the most clean, streamlined and productive way to do anything, especially very practical things that are necessary for people’s wellbeing. Virgo wants to be of help to others in ways that actually make a difference in their lives.

The b-side is that Virgo’s ability to see the many flaws of a process can also focus anywhere else… for example people, including themselves.

Basically, we have the case of a perfectionist who feels never good enough, and is insecure about the work they are putting out. We also have the possibility of finding others to never be good enough. This is a potential state that can arise under stress, or as a result of early childhood experiences of feeling incomplete due to perceiving the existence of high expectations from family members or other important people.

Virgo is an earth sign ruled by the planet of the mind, Mercury. Mercury also rules air sign Gemini. Both Virgo and Gemini can experience a certain degree of anxiety or difficulty keeping consistent attention on one thing at a time. This is also their superpower: they can be great multitaskers, and open to unexpected situations arising.

Virgo represents the part of the mind that analyzes the data that Gemini has collected. It is a very reflective, critical and observant sign.

New Moon in Virgo 2025: Planting Seeds For 2026

The New Moon in Virgo is exact on August 23rd at 0:06 am MT (basically Friday night). This new moon is the first of two new moons that we will have in Virgo this year! Something similar happened in 2023, when we had 2 new moons in Aries. And just like in 2023, one of those 2 new moons this year is a solar eclipse.

This first New Moon in Virgo is challenged by larger forces at play. Uranus, Neptune, Saturn and Pluto all connect to it.

It feels like a wake up call and a prequel to the vibe the eclipses will bring. The seed that is being planted on this new moon is one that reels in the new energies of summer 2025 that will continue to develop through the years ahead, towards the early 2030s.

Two weeks after, on Sept 7th, we get to experience a Lunar Eclipse (full moon) in Pisces, which will connect to events beginning to unfold during the New Moon in Pisces earlier this year (Feb 27th), and can also connect with the very first eclipse in Pisces of this series that happened last September (Sep 17th 2024) which was also a lunar eclipse in Pisces.

Mercury rules the New Moon in Virgo (it’s a key player throughout the entire Virgo season + eclipses). Having already done the retrograde, although still walking out of the retrograde shadow, Mercury (communication, thinking) is waking up to a new mindset.

The New Moon brings together the larger players of summer 2025.

  • Uranus instills this new moon with a lightning bolt of urgency for change. Uranus in Gemini has just started to revolutionize the collective mind, shaking the collective worldview, mindset, ideas, concepts, understandings of reality.

  • Pluto in Aquarius (a Uranus-ruled sign) is deeply transforming our connection to the collective, bringing to surface the shadows of technology, science and information, and groups themselves. We are still experiencing the early stages of Pluto in Aquarius.

  • Meanwhile, Saturn and Neptune in Aries are infusing this New Moon with a fiery spirit of courage and desire for action. Because these two planets are retrograde, this can represent a moment of fine tuning that fire stemming from within us.

During the New Moon in Virgo, there is a connection happening between Mercury and Mars. This connection highlights the fire that is being planted within the seed of this New Moon in Virgo, and it brings in the element of relationships and alliances that align with our heart calling (clarity post Mercury retrograde).

Where is the New Moon in Virgo for You?

If your rising sign is … the New Moon in Virgo plants a seed in your…

Uranus in Gemini □ Sun in Virgo

Uranus is initiating its passage through Gemini (2025 - 2033). It's one of the planets that is not retrograde yet, but it is reaching the furthest point it will get to before joining the retrograde party on Sept 5th.

One thing to remember with Uranus is that it's the planet that shakes things up in a way that can bring the possibilities that would have otherwise been discarded (for being too crazy), up to the forefront and become a tangible possibility.

Gemini is the sign of diversity, contrast, polarity, curiosity, learning, thinking, communicating, and everything that we can relate to these concepts. Gemini is restless, eager to know more stories, more concepts, more data… and endlessly talk about it all.

We are being introduced to a whole new set of ideas. Not all these ideas are viable, reasonable, or morally in alignment for everyone.

As an air sign, Gemini has a fast paced, detached and sometimes superficial way to satiate this hunger for communication, knowledge and connection. Added to the Aquarius energy that Pluto is enhancing for the next 18 years, which is also air, we may have been able to notice the enhanced speed in the development of ideas of all kinds, the radicalization of speech, and the acceleration of technologies especially related to information, communication and transportation. This is our “trailer” for the rest of the decade, all the way until 2033 (when Uranus leaves Gemini).

These eclectic energies of multiple and many times crazy and radical ideas are brewing collective social change. The collective brain is being electrified. A lot of great and revolutionary ideas can be starting to emerge. But some of these revolutions clash against one another. Hence, polarization of ideologies is definitely a possibility.

During Virgo season 2025, Uranus' wild brainstorming is invited to focus on the larger perspective rather than the personal role we each play.

Summertime has kept the Leo energy high since late June, with a stay of Mercury in Leo way beyond Leo season (June 26 - Sept 2nd) due to its retrograde process. This has kept the focus more on what is our heart wanting to say and do, and how we play our part in the grand scheme of things, which is a very important step in the process of building whatever we are building.

Virgo comes at the end of summer to get us ready for the world. It is the polishing, organizing and nurturing time that allows us to be prepared to go out and offer our service, skill, or product to be of use to others.

Let's keep exploring what else does this first part of Virgo season bring for us...

Venus in Leo in Virgo Season 2025: You Got This!

Venus enters Leo on Aug 25th, coming out of the cozy, sensitive and nurturing waters of Cancer (where she was hanging out with Jupiter for about 3 weeks), and into the expressive and playful energies of Leo.

A desire to have fun with how we flaunt in the world can be felt. To express our beauty and charm. Maybe to understand and value that better, after what Mercury retrograde illuminated for us.

However... as soon as she enters Leo, Venus connects to all the outer planets. She is met eye to eye with the lord of the underworld: Pluto.

Pluto unearths deep truths, secrets, subconscious material, and when getting in touch with the planet of love, worthiness and relationships, we may see some important truths and realness show up, offering a profound opportunity for becoming aware of unexplored layers of our soul that might need healing. Aka triggers.

This definitely comes as an opportunity to have very real conversations, but also can feel uncomfortable, intense or challenging. Important transformation and healing can occur if we are willing to be honest, if we dare face the truths, and surrender to trust the process despite its intensity.

Venus will also be in touch with Uranus, Saturn and Neptune.

  • The connection to Saturn and Neptune may be representative of important alliances that are being shaped for this new phase of our life. Perhaps we are noticing an internal new wiring in terms of how we are building relationships.

  • The connection with Uranus may bring a sparkle of surprise or newness to these relationships.

Saturn Retrogrades Back to Pisces: Last Review

On September 2nd, Saturn, the planet of structure, purpose and the passage of time, who has walked through the very first couple degrees of Aries since late May, dips into the Pisces ocean one last time until February 13th, 2026. Saturn first entered Pisces on March 2023 and stayed all the way until May 2025.

This last short visit through the last sign of the zodiac is like a final check in with Source.

Saturn is the builder in our psyche, who has certain expectations on the quality and integrity of that which we consider be worth the investment in terms of energy, resources and time. We can call that “work”, but the way society has been structured in the XXI century we can’t always say that our work is our purpose. Most of us are still searching for that alignment.

Saturn is that part of us. The part that knows there is a larger role to play and that it is somehow cosmically important to do "that", that mission or calling that we feel, which many times feels too difficult, impossible, or too big to achieve.

For those born roughly between 1993 - 1995, the Saturn in Pisces time is their first Saturn return. This is an important time to recognize the parts of our life that are in alignment with our calling and integrity and the parts that are not.

In Pisces, Saturn is connected to the crystallization or tangibilization of something that is only real in the imaginary realm, something that is a vision, a download, or a creation the world has not seen yet. Pisces is womb energy, it is that time before action or birth. Saturn in Pisces people are creators of the unseen.

For the rest of us, the Saturn in Pisces time has been a time to get in touch with our vision and dreams, and also to fine tune our spiritual connection. The downloads we have received and the dream that has been dreamt started to sprout and show initial growths between May and August with Saturn in Aries.

Saturn back in Pisces may be about remembering the vision, or to pick up something else that we had not seen before. It will only visit Pisces for 6 months until the next time in 2052, so allow yourself these upcoming fall to winter months to keep your "third eye" attuned and open. See what synchronicities come your way, what downloads or insights you receive, what dreams or visions come to fine tune your plans.

Mercury in Virgo: More Analytics

On September 2nd, Mercury finally leaves Leo and joins the Sun in Virgo. At this point we are starting to get really close to the upcoming eclipse.

Mercury in Virgo is a very relevant transit. Mercury is the ruler of Virgo, so it has literally returned home. As soon as he enters, Mercury gets struck by Uranus' lightning from early Gemini. Even though both Virgo and Gemini are Mercury's homes, these two signs are very different in tone.

Both are mental signs but they operate in different areas of our brains. Gemini gathers data, Virgo analyses it. Gemini then shares the analyzed information, while Virgo dissects the response.

In a way, Virgo is the critical side of the mind, while Gemini is open and curious. Both can be scattered, but they get lost in different things: Virgo will struggle turning off the perfectionist inside, Gemini will struggle turning off the parrot.

Uranus in Gemini instills Mercury in Virgo with wild new ideas that can feel destabilizing. Virgo can struggle with disorder, and Uranus in Gemini is bringing that kind of energy precisely.

Mercury will stay in Virgo until September 18th when it will ingress Libra. This tension with Uranus (and other planets) will only last a few days.

Eclipse Season is Here: Total Lunar Eclipse in Pisces

On September 7th at 12:08pm, we have the Full Moon that completes the cycle started by the New Moon in Virgo on August 23rd, and this is not just any Full Moon! It is also a Total Lunar Eclipse in Pisces.

This Full Moon Eclipse also shows the maturation of a process started on February 27th with the New Moon in Pisces this year.

This eclipse is a moment to witness the progress that has been made in terms of trusting the process. If things have felt like you're walking blindfolded but with certainty, then you've been shown how even when we don't know exactly what or how things will work out, they do in a mysterious way.

The most important lesson with these eclipses is to acknowledge the invisible force of Spirit or Source, connecting everything in an invisible energetic web of frequencies. If things have felt difficult, there might still be layers of beliefs that need to be let go of in order to be able to trust the magic. Because the magic is there still operating even if we are blind to it.

Spirituality is experience, not theory. Pisces invites us to practice surrendering and trusting. To be willing to be taken through paths that we may have not expected to walk. To nurture the certainty that we are guided, and that pleasant surprises await when you prioritize energy work over anything. Being in the right frequency is inner work. It places you where you must be.

This will be especially visible in the Pisces area of our chart. Find that out through your natal chart!
